Mardi Gras – Universal Orlando Style

Universal Orlando Resort is going beyond the Bayou with Carnaval celebrations from around the world. Watch a parade of spectacular floats (on select nights). Sample flavors from the bayou and beyond. Enjoy live music all around and concerts (on select nights). Let the good times roll and get your beads and your party on, Feb 4 – April 16, 2023!

This annual event is a crowd-favorite! There is a variety of authentic New Orleans bands, colorful costumed performers, and delicious Cajun-inspired cuisine as well as tasty treats from other Carnaval’s across the globe.

Will there be great music?

Yes, music is an instrumental part of the New Orleans Mardi Gras experience, and Universal has embraced all that it can be. On select nights, enjoy live music all around and concerts.

Is there as separate admission?

Universal’s Mardi Gras: International Flavors of Carnaval is included with your theme park admission to Universal Studios Florida.

N’awlins-style food and spirits.

If you’ve always wanted to immerse yourself in the flavors of the Bayou, make sure you stop by the Mardi Gras themed food booths and enjoy some Cajun delicacies. Universal has expanded their lineup throughout the theme park as part of their new ‘International Flavors of Carnaval’ experience, focusing on treats from Brazil to Indonesia and beyond. Here are some must eat stops for that traditional Mardi Gras grub:

French Quarter, New York

The French Quarter has a variety of food selections to pick from. Whether you are noshing on shrimp gumbo with rice, a chicken and andouille sausage jambalaya or blackened chicken po’boy you can’t go wrong.

New Orleans, Battery Park

You aren’t going to get a Crawfish Boil, a Shrimp Boil or (if you dare) a Crawfish and Shrimp Boil anywhere this good outside of New Orleans itself. And to top it off, make sure you save room for a King Cake or Beignets – the tastiest Fat Tuesday treats.

Will there be a parade during Mardi Gras?

Of course – what’s Mardi Gras without the spectacular floats, stunning costumes and bead throwing? The parade will take place each night (except March 31), but the times will vary so check out the calendar before you arrive, to make sure that you don’t miss it.
